I have more than 12 years of experience in the mental health field. Prior to opening my private practice in 2022, I worked at an inpatient hospital setting, a community mental health outpatient setting, and a non-profit social services organization. I'm a trans guy who transitioned as a teen/young adult, and I've always been passionate about working with other trans and queer folks. My favorite part of my job is supervising new therapists. Outside of my life as a therapist, I spend as much time outdoors as I can, particularly birding, gardening, and hiking.

When light shines through a prism, its composite waves of light which are blended together become separated so that one can see their individual colors. I find this a compelling metaphor for the human experience. We are simultaneously a full spectrum of individual colors (feelings, thoughts, experiences, parts of ourselves, etc.), and also the wholeness of those colors together, which when combined, create a hue that is more than the sum of its parts. When effective, therapy serves as a prism for the mind; we can begin to see individual parts of yourself that may have been obscured, but which nevertheless have influence on your entire life. We can also understand how disparate parts of yourself can integrate with your whole self, accepting and even valuing what they contribute rather than trying to eliminate the parts you've struggled with.
